Woodside believes children can develop independence in a caring environment. Emphasis is placed upon developing cooperation, creativity, communication, peaceful conflict resolution, fine and gross motor skills, and attentiveness with focus on Kindergarten readiness.
Children are encouraged to follow their own interests, as well as try new activities. They are also encouraged to work together as a group, learning to follow a daily routine.
The daily program includes many social and educational opportunities.
Most days students engage in:
In addition, Woodside encourages students to experience the world around them. Field trips, classroom visitors, science, and social studies are some of the other areas students have active participation.
Children in our 2 or 3 year-old programs are NOT required to be potty trained. Children may be sent to school in pull-ups. They will be encouraged to use the bathroom with teacher and parent supervision but without any physical help.
If there is an accident that requires immediate attention, the child’s parent(s) will be contacted to change the child at school.
