| Thank you, thank you!
The Woodside family stepped up in many ways lately. We'd like to express our gratitude to a few shining examples and put some hard-working names up in lights (or at least on the web).
Thanks to Judy Gesner (4P-Sara's mom) who made the cover that is temporarily on top of the playground climber.
Thanks to Lance Walrath (3P-Brody's dad) who moved the coathooks and drilled holes to mount the new community board. (see below)
Thanks to Dick Conn (3A-Logan's grandpa) who installed the kick plate under our new sink.
Got somethin' goin' on?
There is now a Community Board posted next to the door where students greet their teacher each morning.
Have a home business you want to advertise? Looking for a babysitter? Found a new family activity you want to share? The Board is there for the Woodside Community. Please fell free to add anything you think would be useful and appropriate.
Please Note: Woodside reserves the right to remove anything from the Community Board for any reason. Anything posted on the Community Board is not necessarily endorsed by Woodside.
| | To bring or not to bring.. that is the question. (about snow pants)
No doubt it has been an unusual winter (and unless you're a skier or snowboarder, gleefully stress-free), but it's a winter that has left parents in a quandary about whether it's worth the battle to jam those snowpants in your child's backpack.
Woodside would like to take the dilemma away. We now request that you send you child to school with snow pants every day until the end of March.
Children will not be required to wear snow pants on days that are obviously too warm.
Woodside believes it's important to give students an ample amount of play time and fresh air. So, on days where it seems borderline whether the weather is good enough to send the kids outside, expect them to go out.
If all the kids have their snow pants, then outside preparation will be uniform for each child and, as a result, faster. Therefore, increasing the amount of outside time for everyone.
| | 4's Busy In March
The 4 year-old classes will receive vision screenings in March at a date to be determined.
Release forms will be sent home with each child for parents to fill out and sign.
There is no cost for the screenings.
Parent-teacher conferences will begin at the end of February.
Slots will be open February 29th and March 5th. Please sign up for a time to meet with Mrs. Speer on the sheet on the bulletin board to your left as you enter the building.
First come, first served.
We're good with food pictures!
Thanks to all the families who brought in the food ads. Mrs. O'Neill says she has enough, but greatly appreciates the help.
She also thought it was wonderful so many families took the time to grab pictures from the box outside the classroom door, took them home, cut out the food pictures and then brought them back in.
If anyone else wants a cutting project for their kids, there are plenty more pictures to cut out! Once again, thanks so much for the help already received!
