Laura Blair

Pre-K Lead

My name is Laura Blair, and I am the Woodside Nursery School  Pre-K teacher!  I taught for four years at Webster Presbyterian Pre-School and love the inquisitive nature and excitement of young students.  I have a background in science and engineering, so I enjoy bringing STEM into the classroom.  I am excited to meet my students and learn what they are looking forward to in preschool this year.

Born and raised in Webster, I returned after college and currently reside with my husband, 14-year-old son, 12-year-old daughter, cat, dog, and frog!  When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, swimming, hiking, writing resumes and blogs, volunteering for PTSA, and watching my kids participate in activities like soccer and band.

I am proud to be a part of the Woodside community!

Kim Dooher

Tiny Tots M/W AM/PM Lead

Kim grew up in Fairport, NY then ventured off to Boston University to earn two degrees, one in Psychology and one in Occupational Therapy. Kim continued her education at University of Massachusetts Boston to earn a degree in Nursing. Kim worked as an OT and nurse simultaneously for many years in Boston.

After moving back to Rochester for her husband’s job, Kim started a not-for-profit with two other moms/best friends called Parents Helping Parents Coalition of Monroe County that helps support children and families in the Early Intervention and Preschool Special Ed systems. Kim has been actively involved in local and state advocacy for children for over 4 years. Kim is currently serving her third year as Co-Chair of the Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council. Kim is also a certified Rainbow Dance instructor, a music and movement program that fosters emotional and social skills for children.

With four young children at home (two of whom are Woodside alumni), free time is scarce, but Kim enjoys traveling with her husband and kids and spending as much time with friends and family as possible. Fun fact: she has been to every baseball stadium in the country with her husband and is now attempting to repeat it with the kids! Kim has lived in three different countries! In addition to recently becoming a Peloton fanatic, she taught water aerobics and a “Stories, Signs and Splash” story time over the summer at the Knollwood Swim Club.

Alicia Stenglein

Tiny Tots T/TH AM/PM Lead

I grew up in Webster and lived there until I got married in 2019. I recently purchased a house in West Irondequoit and love exploring the area. My family includes my husband, Zack, and our daughter Harper, who we welcomed this past April. We also have an almost 2 year old dog named Penny who loves to lick and play. I love taking walks and spending time with family.

Working with kids is truly my passion and has always been a huge part of my life. I have a degree in Childhood Education from MCC and in Psychology from RIT. My favorite activities with kids include crafts, playing outside, and sensory experiences.

Jienna Korzinski

Program Coordinator and Creative Connection and Explorers Lead

Jienna grew up in the city of Rochester and started working in childcare at age 17. Once she graduated, she realized that she had a passion for working with tiny humans and studied Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Program Administration through Empire State College. She has worked as an aide, lead teacher, assistant director and program director over the past 20 years, with the bulk of her experience in administration. Her favorite thing to do is to work alongside teachers to build successful programs and educate new parents on child development. When the world shut down in 2020, she decided to leave her career and stay home to homeschool her two children. She started a healing business and focused on educating her own children.

Jienna feels honored to be a part of Woodside Nursery School! She values the interactions with families and truly believes that children are the best teachers. She has a strong passion for early education and knows the importance of working alongside families and teachers to create the most dynamic and successful environment for early learning.

Natalie Shorikov

Pre-K Aide and PM Busy Bees Lead

Natalie always knew working with children was her passion. At 16, she began nannying for a family that she stayed with for 12 years. During that time, she attended MCC where she received her AS in Early Childhood Education along with an Assistant Teaching Certificate. When she became a mother, she opened her own in-home daycare so she could spend time with her own child and continue to do what she loves. After 5 years of running her own business, she wanted to return to a school setting and found Woodside Nursery School!

She has loved her time at Woodside! She began as the pre-k aide, working alongside Mrs. Blair in 2023 and has since taken lead of our PM 3’s program, where she has the chance to help our Busy Bees get prepared for Pre-K and beyond. Natalie’s favorite part of working with children is celebrating their differences and seeing their growth from start to finish! Her goal is to make every child feel welcome and capable.
